Due to the work we are involved in, we see some very messy situations and help solve them on a daily basis.

I went through bankruptcy in the early 90's when we had the Keating recession. I fought the idea of bankruptcy for 3 years - which was in hindsight 3 years too long. During that time I picked up bits and pieces of information and by that time I had lost my family and all the people around me who I cared for - I realised that I still had no idea and I could not figure out how I got myself into that mess.
In the end I utilised a free government service to help me with my bankruptcy documents and to get my business affairs sorted out. That turned into the biggest nightmare and my bankruptcy was much tougher on my life than it should have been, as I did not understand the income thresholds and other regulations. None of this was explained to me - and I had very little support in completing the documents - a process that ended up taking me 6 months to complete in a manner that was acceptable to the Government.
My life could have been much different during the term of my bankruptcy and I did not have to work for an income as low as what I was made to believe. I gave back my lease car only to find out that I could have kept this car. I could have kept trading in one of my stores, but was not aware of this or how to do this. I think you get the drift of what can get lost in the interpretation if you don't have the right platform to start out from.
